The Do Dham Yatra by Rajputana Holidays covers visits to two of the most revered Hindu shrines—Kedarnath(dedicated to Lord Shiva) and Badrinath (dedicated to Lord Vishnu), both located in the sacred Himalayan region of Uttarakhand.
The ideal time to undertake the Do Dham Yatra is from May to June and September to October. The temples generally remain open from April/May until November, depending on weather and road conditions.
With Rajputana Holidays, the journey starts from Delhi and proceeds by road via Haridwar – Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Badrinath – Rishikesh.
To reach Kedarnath, pilgrims must complete a 16 km trek from Gaurikund, or opt for helicopter services.
The Kedarnath trek is considered moderate to difficult due to altitude and terrain. Pilgrims who are unable to trek can choose palki, pony, or helicopter services, which can be arranged in advance.
Accommodation options include GMVN guesthouses, dharamshalas, budget hotels, and tents near the temples. Rajputana Holidays recommends advance booking, especially during peak pilgrimage season.
Pilgrims traveling with Rajputana Holidays should carry:
Warm clothes (jackets, thermals, gloves)
Comfortable trekking shoes
Raincoat or umbrella
Valid ID proof
Basic medicines & first-aid kit
Flashlight and power bank
Yes, helicopter services operate from Phata, Guptkashi, and Sirsi to Kedarnath. These services are in high demand, so advance booking is strongly advised, particularly during peak months.
Only pure vegetarian meals are available during the yatra. Consumption of non-vegetarian food and alcohol is strictly prohibited in these holy regions.
Yes, the Do Dham Yatra is safe, provided proper precautions are taken. Senior citizens and children are advised to consult a doctor before travel. For added comfort, helicopter and palki services are available for those who cannot trek.
