About Tour

The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most important and sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism. It allows devotees to visit four holy temples located high in the Himalayas. This spiritual journey is believed to wash away sins and help attain peace and salvation.

Rajputana Holidays offers a carefully planned 11 Nights / 12 Days Char Dham Yatra, starting from Delhi. The tour includes visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, along with comfortable transportation, hotels, meals, and experienced drivers to support you throughout the journey.

The yatra begins with local sightseeing in Delhi before heading towards Haridwar and then deep into the Himalayan region. Along the way, pilgrims experience sacred rivers, snow-covered mountains, peaceful valleys, and divine temples. This journey is not only a religious tour but also a deeply emotional and spiritual experience.

Important Information About Your Char Dham Yatra

  • The Char Dham Yatra is a religious pilgrimage, not a luxury holiday. The journey involves remote Himalayan locations, high altitudes, and limited infrastructure. While Rajputana Holidays makes every effort to provide the best possible arrangements, certain challenges are unavoidable. Below are important details you must be aware of before starting your journey.

Kedarnath Top Stay

  • Staying at Kedarnath Top is challenging due to its high altitude of approximately 3,583 meters and its limited operational period of only about six months in a year.
  • Even after paying premium prices ranging between 10,000–15,000 per room, the accommodation may feel damp or lack proper cleanliness. Facilities may not meet standard hotel expectations because maintaining infrastructure at such a high altitude is extremely difficult.
  • Accommodation at Kedarnath Top is usually on a per-bed, per-person basis due to space constraints. Personal room-sharing preferences or special requests cannot be accommodated.

Hotel Availability

  • Hotels may be located inside or outside city limits, depending on availability at the time of travel. This arrangement is done to ensure smooth operations and timely movement during the yatra.
  • Hotel prices and room categories are subject to availability, and last-minute changes in accommodation may occur due to heavy pilgrim rush or government restrictions.

Travel Challenges You Should Expect

  • The trek to Kedarnath is approximately 18–20 kilometers, and all daily supplies for the temple are transported through the same trekking route.
  • Traffic delays of 10–15 hours in a single day are very common, especially during peak yatra season.
  • Landslides, bad weather, roadblocks, and sudden government regulations may cause itinerary changes or delays.
  • Helicopter services to Kedarnath are completely weather-dependent and may be cancelled or delayed without prior notice.
  • Government-approved cabs are mandatory from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, and private or large vehicles are not allowed beyond Sonprayag. Waiting time for these government cabs may apply.

Packing & Preparation Tips

Please travel light, as you may need to carry your luggage during certain parts of the trek, which can be physically tiring.

Avoid overpacking and carry only essential items, such as:

  • Warm clothing, rain gear, and comfortable trekking shoes
  • Snacks, refillable water bottles, and personal medicines
  • Cash, as ATMs are limited and many places accept cash only

Meals & Schedule Changes

  • Due to early morning departures, traffic delays, or weather issues, you may occasionally miss meals (breakfast or dinner).
Please note that no refunds will be provided for missed meals.
  • Meal arrangements depend on the availability of local eateries and hotel facilities along the route.

Health & Safety

  • The Char Dham Yatra is physically demanding. Pilgrims are advised to ensure they are medically fit before starting the journey.
  • Elderly travelers and those with health conditions should consult a doctor prior to travel.
  • Stay hydrated, eat light food, and carry prescribed medicines to prevent altitude sickness or health issues.

Travel Insurance

  • Rajputana Holidays does not provide travel insurance.
We strongly recommend purchasing third-party travel insurance for medical emergencies, trip delays, or cancellations.

Patience & Cooperation

This is a Yatra, not a leisure tour. Despite our best efforts, limited resources, weather conditions, and government regulations may cause inconvenience.

Situations like landslides, heavy traffic, or adverse weather conditions are beyond our control. We kindly request your patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the journey.

Special Note on Kedarnath Top Stay

Kedarnath Top accommodations are not luxurious and may not meet standard expectations due to extreme weather and heavy pilgrim inflow.

Even at premium prices, you may experience:

  • Damp rooms or limited cleanliness
  • Minimal amenities
  • High crowd levels and shared accommodation

Despite these challenges, visiting the holy shrine is a deeply spiritual and life-changing experience.

Final Points to Remember

  • Char Dham registration is compulsory
  • Long queues for darshan and government checks are normal
  • Traffic delays and weather disruptions are common
  • Patience is essential for a smooth pilgrimage

Our team at Rajputana Holidays is fully dedicated to minimizing your difficulties and ensuring a safe and meaningful yatra experience.

Gratitude & Final Words

We are here to help you experience the true spiritual essence of the Char Dham Yatra. While certain discomforts are unavoidable, we assure you of our sincere efforts, care, and support throughout the journey.
